Hope everyone is having a great week! This week, I thought I’d share 5 things that have been helping me get through the workweek. I just started a new job with a long commute, so I have a lot less free time now which has forced me to become more organized in my personal life. These tips have really been helping me get through the adjustment into my new job, and I hope they can help you too!
1. Lay out your clothes the night before.
I put my outfit together each night for the following day, so it’s easy to grab and throw on in the morning. No more getting stuck deciding what to wear and spending too much time staring at my closet, I don’t have time for that. The fewer decisions you have to stop and make in the morning, the quicker you can move through it.
2. Prep healthy meals on the weekends.
I’ve been focusing more on lunches for work, but you could prep your dinners too! I usually try to pick out what I want to eat the following week on Friday and put together a shopping list, go to the grocery store on Saturday, then cook on Sunday. It’s better than having to do that all in one day. There’s plenty of easy recipes for 30-minute meals available online. Lately I’ve been enjoying making things that are only partially cooked because it takes so much less time. For instance, this week I’m taking chicken wraps for work, and all I had to do was cook the chicken, the rest of the wrap is ready-to-eat foods. You could even get a rotisserie chicken and skip that step. There’s lot of shortcuts to easy, healthy meals.
3. Don’t feel pressured to have long workouts.
With my old job, I had an hour and a half to workout in the morning because I lived so close to work. Right now I have 30 minutes. That’s it. Rather than skipping exercise because I feel like I don’t have enough time, I sit down and either write out workouts or find workouts online that can be done in 30 minutes or less. While I wish I had more time, I’m not going to feel bad about it, that’s just my life right now.
4. Pack your lunch and work bag the night before.
Similar to #1, this just helps save time in the morning. I’d rather take 10 minutes to sit down and have my tea in the morning, than have to spend that rushing to put a lunch together and get out the door. I also try to keep everything together in my work bag at all times so I’m not looking for things as I’m trying to get out the door. This has saved me from being late because I lost my keys many a time.
5. Wake up and go to bed at the same time each day.
This is not at all scientific (just my anecdotal evidence) but I find when I get my body into a rhythm by having the same sleeping and waking times, it helps me sleep more deeply and wake up feeling more well rested. And obviously you should aim to get at least 8 hours of sleep, but we all have our different needs (I wish I was someone who didn’t need sleep, I’m one of those people who is their best self with 9 hours of sleep, meaning I’m often not my best self).
I hope these tips help! If you have something else you do to make life easier during the workweek, let me know in the comments!
Have a great week!

Good post. I learn something totally new and challenging on websites I stumbleupon on a daily basis. It will always be useful to read content from other authors and use something from their websites.
